Visual Arts Critique Room

Visual Artists of any and all media welcome! Pieces of all stages of progress welcome! A group specifically intended for the requesting and offering of CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM. Some creators' norms: Firstly, please practice showing your appreciation for critiques with a TOKEN TIP. Amount is subject to the creator's discretion of both the effort put into the critique and the state of their token wallet. This is extremely important to stimulate the Minds economy and to show your appreciation for the time and effort somebody put into your work to give a thorough and thoughtful response. Fractions of tokens can be wired directly through the critic's profile. Additionally, if you're asking for a critique, please (i) be very intentional about the pieces you share, (ii) be as specific as possible (avoid just sharing the title or asking "what do you think?") - which aspects of the piece are you least satisfied/confident with? The composition? Color choices? Linework? Try your best to ask good questions! And (iii) please wait to post another piece of art until another group member has posted - refraining from flooding the group helps keep a healthy rotation in the feed! If you're giving a critique, be as kind and honest as possible! Try to offer solutions and feel free to comment pictures explaining what you mean. Know you might get tipped for your thorough effort! Thanks everyone (: COMMENCE THE CRITIQUES!

Figure (head) art study.

I did a figure study, and here's another face I'd like some critique on. This time I used a figure reference photo from Noah and Rachel Bradley. (which i'll place in the replies!) Now I took the time to work on the hair ;)

I write for a webcomic, however, since I'm the writer and not the artist, I'm not sure if it would be appropriate to post anything here. Anyone interested in doing writing critique? I did do the character design and organized most of the page layouts as well, so discussion of that would fall more under this category. Panel and speech bubble layout definitely aren't as easy as the seem when you're reading them.

My... Self-Portrait.

I did this Self-Portrait... I'm horrible at rendering hair, and it ended up a little squashed looking, but I'd still appreciate any feedback!

So this is a hot mess. I wanted to get the look of a nebula, but alas, my skills with PS5 are not so great. I really struggle to make things look like "light" and you can see I also struggle to create the proper textures. I could blame the brush. Everyone does, but I think it's just me. The lineart is from like 2007 or something, it's been lying around for ages and I thought I'd try to bring this to life. Didn't quite succeed. Any suggestions?

Sorry, I'm an old lady and don't understand tech: how does this work? Do we submit work and let people critique?
