August
August arrives
And in a sudden shift, like water turning into wine
The sun touches my skin in a way that feels new
Summer has arrived, and she is summer
The light catches her eyes in a different way
It’s her, and suddenly shyness stirs within the mess of my feelings
My skin meets hers once again
And my eyes follow the new way the sunlight falls upon the wine
Summer has arrived in all its warmth
And she is August
