The Tanach also Tenakh, Tenak, Tanach), also called the Mikra or Hebrew Bible, is the canonical collection of Jewish texts, which is also a textual source for the Christian Old Testament. The Tanakh consists of twenty-four books. The books of the Tanach were passed on by each generation and, according to rabbinic tradition were accompanied by an oral tradition, called the Oral Torah.
