Very creative and the results look great!
It's a bit what comic book artists started doing in the 1960s/1970s - ignore or actively play with the panels and pages.
They obviously could not leave the page itself, unlike what this guy does, but the fundamental principle is the same: create an interaction between the "environment" (panel, page, wall) and the artwork.

The artist is Andrew Scott - very annoying indeed that the video does not mention his name!
I try to go see it every time I'm in Rome. I still cannot believe that he made this out of marble... yeah, sure, it's super easy. Just remove every bit that doesn't look like the statue 😄
