WWII was another disaster created out of thin air by collectivist idiots in Europe - the Nazis and the Communists

Today marks 82 years since D-Day, the day on which over 160,000 Allied troops landed on the beaches of Normandy, France as part of “Operation Overlord” to fight the Nazis. This played a major role in ending World War II. There were over 10,000 casualties, with 4,414 Allied...See more

Bruxelles in the 1960s

Based on the state of the buildings and vehicles, it's obvious that they were still pretty poor. Lousy maintenance. Which reminds me of the impression I got from London, in 1977 -the year of the Queen's Silver Jubilee. Everything looked poor and run-down. Sure, there were a few Rolls Royces, but the buildings all looked shabby. We could travel through half the city by taxi for 5 CHF (today that would be about 15 CHF or about $19). I still loved the place. The British Museum was fabulous, so was the National Gallery.

Surprise: genetics reveal that humanity used to be ... barbaric

David Reich on how much ancient DNA evidence has overturned so much consensus thinking how ancient cultures spread. "It wasn't peaceful, it wasn't friendly, it wasn't nice. Some of our archaeologist co-authors were just really distressed." ------------ WTF did they expect? Our ancestors were absolute monsters! It took thousands of years of civilization to create societies where the majority of the people are peaceful, cooperative and even quite nice. Maybe we should avoid importing people who are still stuck in barbaric cultures?

I don’t think their data is complete - blacks in Africa made tons on money by selling other blacks into slavery and a lot of black people did end up in the Americas, but it’s really good to see them question the narrative! My guess: most slaver ships were probably not officially registered. Lots of illegal shipments. https://x.com/jokaqarmy1/status/2033321374954012744
