The media frame Trump as the "bad guy" for imposing tariffs, but never complained about Canada imposing ridiculous tariffs on the US for decades.
Same as the situation with the EU, which charged 9% on US car imports but paid only 3% to export cars to the US until Trump equalized.
Trump actually said that the ideal case would be ZERO tariffs, worldwide - with friendly countries!
I've definitely observed this difference. I've been impregnated with Swiss values, i.e. understatements and reasonable expectations.
Both approaches have good and bad sides.
