"I heard that Nahaeda was within the walls today." Rodgistan cleared his throat.

"Yeah, I saw him while checking the generators," Zeth said, "He took a particular interest in Amnika."

"Did he?" Zakkon asked. He paused and looked at Amnika. She no longer held the hood over her face. She studied Rodgistan and fidgeted.

"Anias." He turned to his son who stood next to him. "Take Amnika to see the view of the city. I'll have to tell you everything later."

Anias nodded and walked over to Amnika.

"You want to see the view?" He took her hand. Amnika nodded but looked over at Zeth, Rodgistan, and Zakkon who walked over to an insulated conference room. It was going to be a private conversation. In spite of her disappointed, she allowed Anias to guide her to the view.

"Look at that!" She forgot about the previous conversation.

From the top of the tower, the entire city was visible. Amnika watched in awe at the transports shooting through the tubes. The trade ships would take off and land in the cargo dome. One ship disappeared beneath them as it flew into the mountain hanger, needing repairs.

She looked over to the far right, and she could see one of the irrigation ponds. It looked so small from where she stood. It was part of a garden that contained several edible wild plants. The Natisiens liked foraging for food. The Inersiens thought that would be a good idea to have a place in the city where they can do that.

Beyond the garden was one of the Transport Tubes. It separated the common area from the communities. Amnika tried to see if she can spot her home, but it was too far away.

She tried to look down. At the bottom of the towers stood the decision building's white dome. To the right of that was the research and arts center. There was a group of people walking from the mountain hanger towards the building.

"I bet those are students!" She pressed her head harder against the window in an attempt to get a better look. "They look so tiny!"

Anias chuckled, "Even Natisiens look tiny from here."

Amnika looked ahead to the main gate. There was the common area, filled with stands and those who want to trade. It was the open-air market. Next to the marketplace where the buildings were used to build their everyday items.

To the left of where she stood was another irrigation pond. This one was off limits, and it was purified. It fed the entire city. Another transport tube separated the Irrigation pond from the farm.

The farm looked like a sea of colors of what is called riochi flowers. Amnika's mother called it "colorful sun flowers."

"After all," she said, "They follow the sun."

The flower provided for most of the diet of Zherosha citizens. The workers dried the leaves and mixed them into a mash of the seeds. Dried berries that were brought in by the Natisiens from the outside were also blended with the pulp. Then it was all pressed, segmented into bars, and then dried. Then it was packaged in reusable pouches and stored in the underground warehouse. The rest of their diet consisted of what individuals could trade for at the market.

Amnika pulled her head away and lifted her hand to the window. Anias studied her for a few moments.

"What are you doing?" he asked.

"I can feel the energy of the city." She whispered as her eyes widened.

"Really? You can do that?"

"It pulses a lot."

Anias nodded. "The rikta energy pulses as the transport tubes run. They take the most energy."

"Oh, yeah!"

Amnika looked at him for a moment. Anias noticed her hazel green eyes. Most Inersiens have hazel-grey eyes. Some were silver blue. After thinking a moment, Anias couldn't recall anyone he knew of that had hazel green.

The sun was past center of the sky, and the light made her eyes look as if they glowed.

She turned towards the window.

"It's like a heartbeat," she whispered.
