Did you know: Earth has a mini-moon

Surprise!  Did you know about 3 years ago earth was almost hit by an asteroid?  Ya, me neither, funny what they don't tell us, isn't it.  Well lets not dwell an that little tidbit.  Hey, earth has a new moon, that's exiting! 

So once upon a tine, cute little asteroid 2020 CD3 was truckin' along through space when it got close enough to earth to get stuck in our orbit.  All calculations suggest that it wont stay with us forever, as its orbit is not stable.

It circles our planet about once every 47 days and is roughly the size of a car.

It's great to have a new baby, I know we'll all love our new mini moon just as much as we love its sibling.  ...But i does beg the question... what would have happened if this little pebble glanced off earth herself?
