Often when you finish a book and close the cover, it is finished. You never think of it again. After reading Astral Fantasia my mind continues to think about what happened. I ponder what the characters said and did. I mull over the deep themes and examine them to see if they correspond to my own beliefs and if I can relate to the characters' decisions. The book covers a lot of ground. It's pretty fast paced with a few exceptions and you could read it just for the plot. I don't know how you could though. When faced with themes of good and evil, love and hate, loyalty and betrayal, forgiveness and vengeance; how could you read right past them and not think about where you stand on the spectrum? What is unconditional love anyway? Would you be able to forgive absolutely anything? Could you choose between your husband and your children? Astral Fantasia is a marvelous book. With every new book in the series I think that it can't possibly be as good as the last, but then it is! CL Carhart is definitely not a flash in the pan. Her writing is solid and her characters are believable; they could be someone you know. Her plots, interwoven with a mixture of fantasy and real-world dilemmas are fascinating and thought provoking. I really can't wait until the next one!
