The Sand Cat or also known as the Sand Dune Cat is a species of small wild cat native to Africa and Asia and is listed as least concern.

Reasons for least concern status - Habitat degradation, loss of sand dunes, hunting, human activities, predators, domestic dogs, pet trade, diseases. 

Conservation efforts - Hunting is prohibited in some countries but not all. They are populations that live in captivity.
