The Volcano Rabbit or also known as the Teporingo or Zacatuche is a species of rabbit native to Mexico and is listed as endangered.

Reasons for endangered status - Habitat loss, habitat destruction, agriculture, urban construction, wildfires.

Conservation efforts - They live in protected areas, hunting and trading are illegal and they are bred in captivity.
