Adding a Picture to a Blog

You will notice that there is a large picture of my Linux desktop here. This is in response to @Talon123, whom it seems has been having probs trying to link media to his blogs.

An image of my desktop, stored somewhere in my Vivaldi account.

Some places are able to link image files directly, as here, from the address https://andy_teacher.vivaldi.net/wp-content/uploads/sites/65/2019/01/Screenshot_after_2019_01_06.jpg.

So what you need is a suitable site from which you can copy a sharing link. When adding an image or media to your blog, you first need to hit "Return" on a new line, then click on the "+" symbol. For a picture, you can then click on the "📸" symbol, and a text box comes up; copy the link here, and press "Return". You should then see the image/media at that location in your blog.

Obviously, you may have to scale the image to make it a suitable size, but the important point is finding a site which allows sharing; I discovered that I could do this from my Vivaldi blog tonight, quite by chance. I could probably do this from my server space in Singapore, but other more obvious locations such as my Google Drive, Yandex Disk etc. have not been willing. YMMV.

Anyway, at least I have discovered how to do this. I will have to experiment to find other locations!
