The Democrats Need Biden.

Disclosure: I am not a democrat or republican; but as an Independent I have a vested interest in a solid, coherent option on the left.

Why?

1. Because like it or not we need a hard hitting blast from the past to take the fight to the republican option for a clear choice. We all know that side does not suffer fools.

2. Biden appeals to the widest scope of democratic voters. No one else on stage save for maybe and very shaky Beto could. Maybe an super long shot outside insurgent Buttigieg could. Honestly these two are stretches.

3. As of today Bernie is the number two person to beat. Bernie does not have the ability to fight a hard and nasty campaign. He never went for the kill in 2016 and if he is the guy for the dems in 2020 — he will continue that trend. The past is prologue.

4. Biden is finding his footing and pushing back on the hard left progressives (HLP) currently plaguing the democratic party. I cannot state how important it is. The vast majority of America does not have a taste for the HLPs. When HLPs show up more people get turned off than on.

5. Corporate this Rich people that. Blargh. Winning the presidency requires weaving an always shifting path. It requires forging alliances and deep, deep reserves of money. If the democrats win the White house in 2020 it will be in part with Corporate and Rich folk’s donations. Again the HLPs say these like dirty swear words.

6. It is about the formation of a Dream Team — If Biden manages to win the nomination he should immediately start pulling in all the super stars and popular policy wonks and faces of the party. As a matter of fact he should not even wait to make his choices known. If he focuses the message on those faces — he can wisely escape the socialist GOP attack book. Imagine if he were to put Warren front and center on fiscal policy? It may sooth the HLPs.

Lastly I would hope he would find the messaging of freedom that liberals espouse to strive for. Outrage culture should be tossed in the dust bin. Maybe Biden can lead the charge for transforming it into Awareness culture.
