Debunking the “Stolen Land” Argument

Countless times I’ve heard the exact same claim made in city council meetings: the assumption that conquest is theft, which is blatantly and patently false. This argument has further and further transformed the left into laughing stocks, all as lead activists in this complete farce of a movement like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Robert “Naui Huitzilopochtli” Hernandez keep blindly asserting this non sequitur like the total simpletons they are.

The first reason why these people are wrong is also the most obvious: because civilizations have been conquering each other for thousands of years. Did the Romans “steal land” from the Greeks or did they actually let them become citizens? No one today ever denies that the latter is the case. Likewise, no one calls the Turks “land thieves” despite the fact that in 1453, only one generation earlier than that of the Aztecs’ demise, the last vestige of the Roman Empire — the city of Constantinople, built in the 300s AD by the first Christian emperor — was forcibly Islamized by tyrants more brutal than the Conquistadors by far. So what makes white Americans any different? Their skin color? If so then anyone who has ever played the race card in his or her entire life instantly transforms into a hypocrite when he or she makes this argument.

And then there are the Canaanites, who in terms of cultural practices are a complete carbon copy of what went down in Mesoamerica when the Conquistadors arrived. The only difference, of course, is that they were judged 3000 years earlier — after the Israelites left Egypt in 1530 BC, wandered the deserts for 40 years (Exodus 16:35), reached the border with Canaan in 1490 BC, turned away out of cowardice (Numbers 14:33), wandered the deserts again for another 40 years, and finally started doing God’s work in 1450 BC (1 Kings 6:1). The Canaanites practiced human sacrifice, including that of children. The Canaanites engaged in cult prostitution. The Canaanites glorified the shedding of blood and even drank human blood as part of their rituals. Who else did all of those things?

That’s right, the Aztecs and Mayans, and what happened as a consequence? A repeat of what happened almost exactly 3000 years earlier. Like the Canaanites, Mesoamerican cultures practiced human sacrifice — again, including that of children, in perhaps a far more brutal manner than they ever thought possible. Like the Canaanites, the Aztecs engaged in all kinds of sexual deviances, from homosexuality to cult prostitution all the way to rape and sexual slavery, and yes, like the Canaanites, they believed that they were divinely obligated to partake in these wicked practices. It’s no wonder, therefore, that God would use the exact same method to judge the Aztecs that He used to judge the Canaanites: conquest by His followers.

But wait, weren’t the Canaanites warned to repent but didn’t? Yes, and so were the Aztecs, who mistook their judge for He who warned them in a dream that they subsequently misinterpreted that they would be judged if they didn’t A, worship Him and Him alone, and B, repent of their wicked rituals. They saw the dream but didn’t listen to it. Instead of acknowledging that the person who appeared to them was Jesus, they renamed Him Quetzalcoatl, placed Him among other gods instead of worshipping Him and Him alone, and as a consequence dug their hole even deeper still. The “mistaken identity” argument is in a weird sense valid because after all the Conquistadors were Christian, and they held up crosses similar to those that would have been noticed in such a misinterpreted dream. But by then, it was too late. Like the Canaanites, they had their chance to repent but didn’t.

It’s against this backdrop that it becomes especially clear just how wicked today’s open borders advocates are. The left wants open borders because they are of the exact same wicked mindset that brought us both the Canaanites and the Mesoamericans. The only reason why they have the nerve to think that we who conquered them are on “stolen land” is because they are secular moral relativist nihilist idiots who wouldn’t know divine retribution if it showed up and judged them in the face.
