I fell for the left's description of Christ for a long time. The left recognizes American's respect for Christianity and use that respect as a wedge. By donning the Jesus' mantle, they infiltrate the consciousness of Americans and believers who lack a solid understanding of their own theology (which is most of us). It is a guilt trip, a shaming, a mocking, but most of all, it's a deception.
This meme is intended to infect anyone with any respect for Christ with the ideology of the left.
This meme was written by somebody with an agenda who knows enough about the bible to twist it to fit their agenda. Which goes directly against the commandment, "Do not take my name in vain." That commandment is not about cursing, but about claiming your agenda is God's.
Dennis Prager explains the why the commandment is not about cursing (or at least not just about cursing):
"The Commandment widely translated as “Do not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain,” is imprecisely translated. The original Hebrew literally reads, “Do not carry the name of the Lord thy God in vain.”
And, the Commandment continues, “for God will not hold guiltless (literally, “will not cleanse”) whoever carries His name in vain.”"
This meme carries God's name in vain, intended to subvert God's will. We (Christians and non-Christians alike) need to recognize and call this out when it happens.
