Violence escalated between activists and police throughout today's Yellow Vest demonstrations. Several were arrested or injured, and hundreds were exposed to mace and tear gas. The protest began at Arc de Triomphe and marched in the thousands toward the Statue Equestre du Maréchal Foch, near the Eiffel Tower, which is where police lines fell apart and immense violence including the throwing of bricks and bottles broke out.
