McConnell and Sec. Chao not that long ago; we were seated next to them on an outdoor deck at a riverside restaurant called Captain's Quarters. I didn't accost him or spit in his food — because I don't believe that impromptu, Mickey Mouse harassment accomplishes anything. But reinforcing my well-bred civility were the three linebacker-sized gentlemen in black suits who were wearing earpieces and standing alertly nearby. Where, I wonder, were those burly security men the other night, when McConnell and Chao were harangued by customers in a Bardstown Road restaurant? I suppose that, if being yelled at would help further your "victim of incivility" PR narrative, you might tell the security detail to wait out by the car on that particular evening. "You boys hang back until we get harassed, but keep an eye peeled. If anyone touches me, wipe them all out."
