Who should you listen to about government issues? During Democrat administrations, conservatives and gasp, some libertarians, listen to republican pundits pontificate about the absolute evil of the administration. It is, but not necessarily for the reasons they suggest. The left, and generally, authoritarian liberals (or do I repeat myself?) support every word and deed from the administration. Indeed, Obama was inducted after a Messianic and Greek God media concoction in Chicago. There are some, in the liberal cohort who do believe in individual liberty. During Republican administrations, the left, and authoritarian liberals, listen to NPR and the liberal/left media pundits pontificate about the absolute evil of the administration. It is, but not necessarily for the reasons they suggest. The right, generally conservative socialists (a la Huckabee) support every word and deed from the administration. Indeed, only Christians or those who will quote scripture on live TV and feign opposition to Roe (still the law of the land despite total republican majorities during several administrations.) There are some in the conservative cohort who do believe in individual liberty. All of these Partisan pundits are not worth your time. Why? Because fundamentally, there should be an absolute distrust and contempt for all government authority, especially federal authority. All Presidents are bad. Every rule has its exception: the 9th President, who died after only a month in office. Further, the reasons for complaints of the "other side" usually are not related to the most grave issues related to the government. No one really cares about dalliances of powerful decision-makers, when the government is eviscerating the bill of rights, and conducting warfare around the globe, using counterfeit currency as "official money" that holds no real value relative to the real value on the other side of every transaction.
