#facial recognition #technology #surveillance We've all heard about the introduction of facial recognition technology over the past few months, it;s introduction in public spaces by law enforcement and government intelligence agencies for the purpose of extending surveillance capabilities and enabling officials to identify us wherever we are, it's use by tech pirates such as Facebook and Google to gather more information about us thus (theoretically,) enabling their customers to target us more accurately with advertising and propaganda, and it's inaccuracy which makes possible serious miscarriages of justice. But should we welcome it or demonize it?
