Spring Slot - Pristine Llano Estacado Slot

The group of renegade hikers I hang out with have a sizable list of targets that we have on our hit list. Recently we got to check one of those targets off our list. What we found was a pristine slot that is easily in the top 3 of the slots in region. We're calling this slot Spring Slot.

It's right up there with Slender Man and Los Lingos. It's not as deep as Slender Man and Los Lingos but many times longer than Slender Man and on par with Los Lingos.

By pristine, I mean it has zero graffiti. Most of the top slots in the region have graffiti by either cowboys 100 plus years ago or teenagers from the 50's or 60's. 

That makes any identification of older native art hard to find, if any does exist. For this reason and the fact that the hike is long and difficult, we're not sharing any hints as to its location other than it's in the Texas Panhandle.

The slot has everything in multiple sections. It's easy to drop into and get out at a couple of different places along the slot.

This slot has numerous narrow points with drop offs.

Toward the downstream end of the slot, it opens up at the bottom into a wide chamber. The top of is still as narrow as it is along most of the slot. It's an incredible feature that's hard to take in.

From the chamber room it's a short walk to the mouth of the slot where it widens out to a deep narrows.
