We are pleased to announce an overhaul of the blog editor which leverages the open source CKEditor library. It includes a more optimized design and WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get) output.
:)
It is currently released to Canary users on the web app, so you will not be able to use it without enabling Canary-mode. You can access the tool by opening the composer and then clicking “Create Blog”.
Features include:
Lists – You can now add bulleted or numbered lists. This was highly requested.
Paste from other docs– Paste content from Office applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel or Google Docs.
Embed media – Insert embeddable media such as videos (e.g. YouTube, Vimeo) or posts from other social networks. (Minds embeds coming soon we promise!)
Responsive images – Drag and drop an image to have it uploaded instantly. Built-in support for responsive images will let your blog be friends with mobile devices.
Insert code blocks – A long requested feature for developers to share insights about software.
Rich-text features – Tables, media, formatting and mark-down support
Monetization - Put your blogs behind a paywall under different membership tiers.
There are many plugins available that we may consider in the future for real-time collaboration, editing and more. As always, please report issues in the Canary Group.
