How to setup your wallet without MetaMask

Before you get started here, please note that it is recommended that you use MetaMask for your OnChain address for the most seamless experience on Minds. Instructions on how to do this can be found here.

If you do not wish to use the recommended MetaMask tool, then the following steps will help you get your OnChain address set up by either creating a new address or providing an existing address.

Step 1 - Click on the bank icon in the top right of your screen to visit your wallet.

Step 2 - Enter your mobile number and verification code if you have not already (don't worry, Minds does not store this information, it is just used to prove your channel is unique and prevent fraud).

Step 3 - Go to the "Addresses" tab in your wallet menu, read the first onboarding screen and click "Next".

Step 4 - If you wish to create a new address, then select the option that says "Create Address".

Step 5 - After you create your address, you will be prompted to download a file that contains your private key. DOWNLOAD YOUR PRIVATE KEY AND DO NOT LOSE IT. Minds has no way to recover this key, so if you lose it, you will also lose all of your tokens in the address.

Step 6 - If you wish to import an existing address, then select the option that says "Provide Address". Then you will be prompted to enter your existing address.

Step 7 - Click "Complete" on the final page of the onboarding and refresh your browser.
