So what mean social connection?
When our species born, we left a zone of comfort inside the belly, and we have to deal with an unknown new world.
We do not know how to speak, walk, ask, or coordinate any survival function alone.
We seize the world, from environment and other biological beings, by sensations and senses.
Senses are more specific, come from a processing of our central nervous system, through the processing of information received by nervous receivers, whether visual, voices, smells, tactile, flavors.
Sensations are more subjective are briefly associated with pleasure and displeasure, pleasant or unpleasant.
We are born with innate instincts of protection and survival. But the instincts alone do not sustain themselves, it takes another to present the world to protect, and to provide both biological and affective needs.
Then the social bond begins at birth, with the person who will care for and recognize that individual in the world, will provide food, cherishing, words, looks ...
When it comes to the past of the human species, hunters and gatherers, the species of female biological sex provided these needs, and naturally evolution gave this support, so normal childbirth recovery is much faster and with fewer effects to the body at the cost of labor pain , involving other factors.
Thus the maternal function from birth comes naturally as protection, and introduction to social reality, the connection with the world of the human species.
From the maternal social bond, the person who would introduce that being to reality and more, the form of connection between individuals, language.
Language in principle is not the word itself. The first language that babies learn is the Mother Language, and which I will return in the next post!
