Fixing MINDS (Part 1)

It's funny, how corruption sneaks it's little head in every time money gets involved.

So for shits and giggles I decided to listen to the playback of the recent MINDS town hall meeting.  What?  You didn't catch it live either?  Don't worry you can watch it in it's entirety here:

MINDS Crystal Palace has some neat ideas for the future and how they are going to address us, their humble users.  This quarterly town hall is a good start.  But as I sat there I kept thinking to myself, "Do these guys really want to go into the heavyweight division with Facebook and Twitter?"  Right now they are only in the lightweight division with the likes of Tumblr and MeWe.

What I found interesting in this Town Hall in the Q&A segment is that a user asked a very good question.  He noted that in order for MINDS to be in the big leagues with the likes of Facebook and Twitter, that MINDS had to appeal to the features and ease of use for someone like @ottman 's mom or dad to use it.  And you know what?  The Crystal Palace went silent.  The concept flew right over their heads.  Let's face it, the question had nothing to do with code, or with tokens or with tech issues of offchain versus onchain....so they were like the deer in the headlights.  @Ottman even referred to these features as the "Boomer Features".  Being a boomer myself, I chuckled.  But I laughed harder when comparing Ottman's net worth to that of Mark Zuckerberg's.

Social media has become so "Anti" social that all of these platforms have forgotten why they were created in the first place.  So that people can relate to each other.  So that a grandma can see the latest pics of their grandchild.  So that two people can have a conversation regarding the latest NFL trades.  So that a couple can flag where they want to go out on a date.  That's the true power of social media.  And where Facebook and Twitter have the advantage is that they made these actions EASY for people.  And they also made their platforms EASY for people to engage in these actions.

Right now, MINDS has a tremendous opportunity in that all of these competitive platforms are shooting themselves in the balls with all of this political posturing.  They are manipulating people's timelines to show them, not what their users want to see but what Facebook and Twitter want them to see.  They are also silencing users.  If MINDS took a good hard look at their competitors and started focusing on their features to bring in more users, they could actually beat the heavyweights easily.  The one user told the Crystal palace that what attracts his mom to Facebook is how Facebook organizes pictures on their profiles.  And I agree.  Facebook makes showing one's world much easier.

Let's be clear.  Right now, MINDS is trying to compete with the likes of GAB.  Free speech so one can spew their political vitriol online.  And because many Twitter users can't do that, they are coming here.  So what do we have?  A political right leaning echo chamber.

This is why this Joker interacts with people who post scientific posts....or musical posts....or fashion posts....and we all know how much I love my porn people.  I try to get as much diversity as I can get. I get tired of people calling Joe Biden a moron....everybody knows that.

I differentiate myself by finding funny stuff over the internet, throwing my own spin on it so I get people to laugh.  So that I break up people's timelines with a little humor.  I mean really, how many times a day can you tolerate being told that Fauci lied to you . . . . . .again?  Hopefully, I can bring the humor of Carlin, Murphy, Kineson, and the Dice Man back.  People need that style of humor and not this "woke" shit that is being spewed out today.

Minds should focus on being a social medial platform that makes it easy and comfortable for people to relate to each other......Let's start healing people instead of destroying them with all of this presumed diversity.  Look for the features that accomplishes this and you will find that people will start to migrate over......
