I remember a night with crystal clarity when a bunch of my best friends and I blasted Motley Crue 'Without You' through a black dual cassette player plugged into a socket under a gazebo in a park close to midnight. It was heartbreakingly beautiful; the song, the night, the clear and starry sky, the vibe and the warmth of the company as we all just swayed (and dare I say displayed some of the greatest and most accurate air-guitar ever performed), all sense of 'self' released and offered to the sky, lost within the tides of the music.
