Updating Our Video Storage Policy
Summary
- Because our data shows that 95%+ of video views occur within the first 2 weeks after uploading, we’re updating how long videos can be stored on Minds for accounts on our free tier.
- Beginning on May 1, new videos uploaded to Minds by accounts on our free tier can be replayed, downloaded or shared from their Minds channel for 30 days, after which they will be automatically removed from Minds.
- Videos currently uploaded to Minds by accounts on our free tier that are older than 30 days will be removed from Minds on May 1. Before any archival videos are deleted, all accounts will be notified by email and will have until May 1 to download the videos to a local device. We launched a new feature to make downloading your previously uploaded videos easy.
- If you want your videos stored for longer than 30 days, any account can easily upgrade to Minds+ or Minds Pro so that videos you upload are stored indefinitely on your Minds channel for as long as you have an active paid subscription.
How to Download Your Videos
To make it easier for you to save videos you previously uploaded, we have launched a new download feature to enable you to keep your videos on your local device. Here is the easiest way to do this:
- Visit your channel page
- Filter by content type to “Videos”
- Click on the post menu for any video post that you wish to download
- Select “Download” and save it to your local storage
