How to build your own DIY platform bed out of wall cabinets

YouTube user, Chris Heider, has put together a simple-to-follow instructible on how to build your own, awesome, cabinet bed from a stack of IKEA furniture and some wooden planks.

Turning these basic cabinets into a solid bed, with storage underneath, is an extremely awesome use of space and time.  The full construction video can be found below

According to Heider, the project cost about $480 broken down as follows:$355 – Cabinets$85 – Lumber$40 – Paneling, carpet, knobs

He explains that you can use any brand or style of wall cabinet, though he used IKEA's SEKTION wall cabinets for his bed in the video.

Though he doesn't have a final weight capacity limit, he has tested the final bed with three people and two dogs and there were no problems.  You can add extra support as necessary.
