Downhill, a poem

Wooshing down
The long hill
Wind whistling
Flaring out hair
‘Round grinning face
Such rapid pace

Faster, faster
Hair’s breadth
Edge of disaster
As gravity pulls
Bearings sing
Almost feeling
Soon take wing

Now the bottom
Up-rushes fast
Reminded of
Risk of crash
Heat on sole
Shoe-rubber brake

Spin, board-wide
In broadside slide
Slowly stopping
Arms thrown high
An awesome ride
