Been working hard on a high voltage vacuum-tube-based Tesla Coil power supply. It's surprising how fast and clean it's all coming together.
Decided to make the knob for the variable capacitor, which started with turning down a piece of teflon and spattering the shop with thousands of tiny teflon shavings. They're like packing peanuts but harder to clean up.
Drilled and tapped a few holes where the knob mounts, so when tightened the thing doesn't twist and slide around.
By adding some tiny screws and then trimming them down, I end up with 4 'alignment pins'
Drilled identical holes in the handwheel...
Drilled and tapped one more screw thread to fit a plastic turn knob. No dimensions, was just freehand.
Added the power switches and power indicator lights. Also mounted the transformers and began routing the wire.
I bet by Friday I'll have it ready to test fire again😁
Stay tuned for more🤠
