Today, 373 years ago, on April 6, 1652, Jan van Riebeeck landed at the Cape of Good Hope with a small crew of around 90 men and a handful of women aboard three ships: the Dromedaris, Reijger, and Goede Hoop.
This marked the beginning of a new, unique tribe in Africa, one that would grow to weave its roots deep into this continent while carrying forward the spirit and values of its origins.
Through centuries of storms and hope, this community has endured, as tied to Africa as the rugged cape itself.
