The software we use is mostly all Open Source Software and runs on many different Operating Systems like WinX, Mac and Linux. Try out the software that appeals to you, try the different styles that appeal to you. 

Make the ones that you like often and see how one set of parameters can be so versatile in making several unique designs. 

Most apps have sample parameters that you can start from and take to a whole new unique piece of art from your choices of tweeking different settings!
