A Cruel Angel's Thesis - Foreword

This is a project I began over 10 years ago, writing here and there.  Most of what I wrote is now relegated to the dustbin of History as it was part of my Google+ account prior to the service closing down.  Regardless I feel I have to try this again.  

Neon Genesis Evangelion has had so much impact on my life that I have to write down my analysis of the series, its lore and its characters for future reference and also because I vehemently disagree with the "EvaGeeks" community (read: cult), of whom I was a part a long time ago before being branded a pariah for daring to bring forward my "Sequel Hypothesis" back in 2006 when the first Rebuild movie was released.  Yes, I'm the one to blame for the whole "theory", aside from maybe a few guys in Japan who came up with it around the same time.

Enough about myself.  What will follow from this string of blog posts is what I've been (aptly) calling "A Cruel Angel's Thesis", taking the name from the song in the anime's opening.  This "thesis" will go into deep analysis of the characters, organizations, lore and other aspects of the series in an attempt to explain the series to those who've only watched it once and seek to know more.

A wiki would be better suited for this but there are already several and this project isn't meant to be collaborative.  This is my own personal examination of Evangelion.  Some readers may not agree with my opinions on certain characters or events and that's entirely fine.  I already know my thoughts on Kaworu severely clash with that of most viewers, however I will get to that when I'll cover his character.
