The mask is a sign that powerful forces are laying claim to our bodies in increasingly invasive ways. There have not been a lot of things the state has mandated us to wear, let alone muzzle ourselves with. Mask or vaccine mandates are early moves in an incremental assault on your individual sovereignty. Various nanotechnologies, biometrics, genetic engineerings and machine-brain interfaces are in the works. A person so accessorized, in the context of 5G surveillance grids, social credit systems, a cashless society and an internet of things, is well integrated into an A.I. control matrix. If you think you can simply opt out, well, the fight for that right is happening now, with COVID-19 as the crisis no self-respecting tyrant will waste. Beyond lies a slippery slope into the pits of hell; any society that can mandate the injection of a DNA-altering drug can also mandate that we get neurally wired-up, or digitally tagged with medical and financial records, social credits, or passports allowing entry into society.
Such tyrannies are sold with appeals to “the greater good.” They are also sold as conveniences; both are legitimate options whose level of participation should be each individual’s decision. The danger comes when we accept the idea that technology literally makes us better. There are various philosophical, religious and spiritual doctrines addressing everything from “self improvement” to “the perfectibility or man.” At best, Transhumanism is simply a faint shadow of such ideas, a counterfeit to spiritual evolution. At worst, it is an active antagonist to these.
The walls are closing in on those increasingly rare non-conformists interested in exploring the full scope of their innate physical, mental, moral and spiritual potentials beyond the Transhumanist vision. The next time you hear the word "mandate," for masks or anything else, hold fast to your critical thinking against a barrage of faux-altruistic appeals, and consider what is really at stake.
