Back in 2015, I started writing for an online magazine called the Waking Times. I hadn’t had any experience other than publishing a few articles on my own blog, but I was dedicated to getting the truth out and I wanted to improve my skills as a content creator.
After sending my first article into an established media outlet with an already fairly large audience (much larger than I currently have), I was very excited to see that it was published. The article was called Monsanto Forced into Cutbacks as GMO Awareness Grows and it was a short article about how Monsanto was forced to lay off several employees because people simply did not want to buy their products as much anymore.
When you publish your first article on a platform with a fairly large audience, it’s an exciting feeling. Mostly, I was just happy to get some information out Monsanto, the “DARK Act”, and a Florida University Professor named Kevin Folta who received $25 thousand dollars from the notorious biotech company before promising “a solid return on the investment.”
It was a great feeling to be able to inform people about things I care about. I’d always been into current events and word issues, and I wanted to do something to help. The next two articles I sent in were about a study showing no harm from the use of psychedelics and a document uncovered by Geoengineering Watch revealing that the late 1970’s congress was aware of weather control.
After each of those articles were published, I was sent an email from the editor of Waking Times offering me a job – to actually get paid to write these articles. Heck yeah! Now I can do what I’ve always wanted to while getting paid at the same time.
It was a great experience, however after a while I realized that it was a lot of work, and the pay wasn’t good enough for it to become a full-time job either. After spending a couple of years writing with a break around election time because of stress, I published about 70 articles and developed my writing skills quite a bit over that period.
However, after the alt-media started taking huge hits from Facebook obliterating distribution and big tech censorship, I realized that if I wanted to keep going I would have to start developing my own audience and publish on my own platforms.
That’s why I’m here writing this article today; I want to know what you guys want to see. I know that there are countless writers, broadcasters, podcasters, and vloggers in the media and I’m curious where I can fit into the landscape to provide as much value to my audience as I can.
This is an open letter to my subscribers as well as a questionnaire of sorts. If you don’t mind, I would like to ask you all a few questions.
(1) What type of news are you most into?
A) Liberty – Personal liberty issues, censorship, privacy, etc.
B) Health – Natural health, GMO’s, toxins, Big Pharma, etc.
C) Society – Culture, activism, awareness, etc.
D) Politics – Governance, Politicians, Parties, etc.
E) Environment – Environmental damage, renewable energy, etc.
(2) What type of media do you typically watch/read?
A) Articles
B) Podcasts
C) Videos
D) Other...
(3) Do you support any content creators financially? If so, who is it and why do you support them over others?
(4) Which creators do you enjoy the most, and how often do you watch them?
(5) Would you be willing to donate 1 dollar or wire 1 Minds Token per month to see exclusive content or help me fund what I do? Or, would you rather get a physical product in return?
If you don’t want to answer, you don’t have to, but it helps me figure out what people are thinking about lately and how I can add to the conversation in the most productive way possible.
My goal is to earn a core base of followers which I can communicate with via Patreon, email, or any other private channel so we can have these types of conversations outside of the public sphere. I would like to provide content which a core group of people can enjoy (I have a few of you in mind) while also getting the information out to more people. In my view, a core audience will support a creator who is able to communicate information to people they would not have been able to communicate to. That’s sort of the point of media these days – getting your message out via the most channels.
So, if you’re interested in checking out my work, you can look at my website, which will give you a pretty good picture of the type of content I find to be the most interesting/important. By supporting me, you will know that I will always continue (after three years, I’m not going to drop out – I love working in media and communicating information I think is important) while helping me reach more people and you will have an influence in what I do as a creator – my goal is to provide content you enjoy.
I genuinely care, so let me know what you think about all this. If you’re interested and you want to take a few moments out of your day to help me continue and expand what I do, here’s a list of ways you can show your support:
1) Follow me on Social Media – I publish on about a dozen social media sites. Even if you don’t use the site much but still have an account (Google+, anyone?) it still helps me a lot to show your support by subscribing.
2) Sign up for my email list - On my website, I have a box on the right (or near the bottom on mobile) which allows you to become part of my mailing list. This is one of the best channels for me because it completely bypasses censorship and guarantees that the message will be sent, unlike social media which you must be on at the time of posting or it becomes lost in the internet void.
3) Support me via Minds Token – By supporting me via a monthly Minds Token donation, you not only give me a greater ability to promote my content and channel, but also allow me the opportunity to communicate directly with my core audience (you) seeing as though only those who donate will be able to view certain content.
4) Donate Via Patreon – I know that not everybody has extra money to spend on this sort of thing, but if you see the value in supporting small-scale or upstart content creators with a drive to tell the truth, you can help me an enormous amount by making a small donation. This also allows me to communicate to you more easily because I know you care enough to donate.
5) Support my affiliate, the Health Ranger Store – If you’re interested in clean food, supplements, gardening, survival, or preparedness, consider supporting my affiliate, the Health Ranger store. By using my referral link, a portion of the money you spend will go to me, so I can keep writing articles and making videos. The rest of the money will go to supporting Natural News, Real.Video, Good Gopher (search engine) and all the other projects that Mike Adams is working on.
6) If you’re not on Minds or BitChute, use my referral link to sign up (and then subscribe to me) - Signing up for Minds with my referral link gives me some tokens, and when you sign up for BitChute using my link it counts how many referrals I get (not as helpful, but the subscribing part is).
Supporting me in any way gives me the opportunity to gain more followers in the future, which means greater ad revenue and a compounding of support which could really give me the ability to make this a full-time job – which is what I’m working toward.
My goal is to give you the information and perspective that governments and corporations don’t want you to hear, which is what I’ve been doing since the beginning. Finally, I want to give a big thank you to everyone who has already supported me in any way, and I hope to hear from you all in the future.
