Five years ago I was in animation school, wondering why the curriculum, the industry formalities and the general approach to making awesome cartoon storytelling felt so outdated. My teachers were largely web illiterate. My peers were busy posting their masterpieces (truly some awesome work) to blogger and tumblr and instagram and vimeo. I was too, but it felt backwards, counterproductive somehow. The term "art blog" was bouncing around my cranium and I decided I would create a totally unique vision for sharing my illustrations, a seamlessly flowing "blog", all image, one idea blending into the next, a stream of subconsciousness.
This website Skrowl is a visual experiment, I am still surprised that I haven't come across any artist who has attempted the same concept.
I need help bringing Skrowl to the next level:
1. The navigation menu is full of icons linking to facebook, instagram, twitter and patreon. I don't use any of those platforms now. They are obsolete to my process. I need it to link to Minds.com and that's it.
2. My BIIIG DREEEAM Is that the entire stack of scrollable imagery could be rotated 90 degrees, by buttons on the navigation menu, so that we can move through vertical and horizontal art play.
My dream is to link up with one or two people who love this idea and have a higher degree of development chops than myself. I'm very willing to pay for help, in tokens, or ethereum. I see large potential in this concept not only as a means of experimental storytelling and artistic expression but as a future teaching tool.
Can we turn skrowl sideways?
How can others make a skrowl?
How can skrowl be more interactive?
How can decentralization and blockchain effect the seamless scrolling medium?
