scribble scans 11/03/2019

Last month I hopped on the other side of a figure drawing pad for the first time, serving as nude model rather than scribbler. I found it really enlivening, liberating, physically challenging, like a self directed yoga class but structured around strict time frames (five 1 minute poses, five 2 minute poses, three 5 minute poses, two 10 minute poses, two 20 minute poses)...

Since then my figure drawing process has found new patterns of flowy joy, and I've been recruiting my friends to come in as models. Models here are paid 50$ for a two hour self directed yoga class, decent money, even if it gets a bit cold, which it does. We're cultivating a small young scribbly nudity coalition, alive in the weekly practice of strength and ease, breathing into vulnerability, melting into pure observation, sharing transparent reflections of one another.
