What is Minds’ Deradicalization Initiative?
Minds’ Deradicalization Initiative is about encouraging the world to get talking, to find common ground, and to speak civilly to those with whom we may disagree to build a stronger world, together. We were inspired by the good works of our friend and collaborator, Daryl Davis, the African-American musician who convinced over 200 members of the Ku Klux Klan to remove their hoods for good by befriending them and listening. Our goal is to leverage his methodology to achieve similar results on social media and in real life, both with non-extremists who think differently, and also actual extremists.
