The old slaughterhouse built in 1958 and where production ceased in 2000. Today the whole area is completely devastated and anything that was made of metal was stolen long ago.

All the machinery is gone, of course, and the area is clogged with waste and debris.

Most of the interior spaces have been leaking for a long time and are past the point where they could be saved even if they had a value that would make them worth saving. We have enough sterile communist architecture in the Czech Republic as it is.

Thanks to the devastated interior, the most interesting walk was on the rooftops...

...and then in basements, collectors and various underground connecting passages.

As it happens, some of the corridors seemed endless, although in reality they could not have been more than fifty metres long.

I am not - like some - sensitive to various "paranormal" hallucinations and oppressive feelings, but I understand that there are people who seek such places.

After exploring the underground, there wasn't much of interest left in the area, so we stopped for a few beers and headed home.

But before that, my colleague still "had" to explore a few dead ends.
