One of the most difficult things I have done in my life is to leave my home country and find another place to live. I left when I was 22 because I was white and not welcome. The world is a hard and lonely place when you have no country to call your own. Loyalty to your flag is the fundamental underpinning to all healthy interactions with authority. I have a place now, and although I know that I will never feel the same as I did in the land of my birth, I am learning to look through eyes that see beauty and hope again.
