Today, I was reading about how Bill Clinton and James Patterson's new novel had sold 150k+ copies in a week, and how they had great expectations to sell at least a million copies. As I drank my coffee I commented this to my coffee drinking buddy at my favorite little coffee hut, and she just snorted, "Of course--because Liberals support the 'arts' and Conservatives don't."
That got me to thinking, and sadly, I had to admit she is correct. As an artist and a writer, I can attest this, and the far-reaching consequences of this lack of support. Artists and writers are record keepers of the times we live in, kind of historical gatekeepers. We keep the temperature of our times, but we also help to shape cultural ideas and norms. When we have a scene of completely Leftist artists and writers, this impacts our culture, and our future, more than people realize. Look at Hollyweird and its damage. Look at the filth in the museums and auction houses. Look at the filth in the libraries for all to read and revere. This comes from lack of diversity, and a monopoly of sorts. Liberals have locked down culture and academia and science, and claimed it all as their "own". No outsiders welcome, thank you very much.
How can we change this? I think we all know deep inside how we can -- support Conservative artists, writers, scientists, and all those in these fields. Yes, splurge on that book, that painting, that little sculpture you were admiring, that course in science given by the Conservative teacher at the outlier school, do what you can do to support the Right in these fields -- the Left is constantly supporting their own -- look at the success of Slick Willy's book. That speaks volumes in and of itself.
