SJWs and "Colorism"/"Racism" -- Insecurity or? I think it's this:
Fantasy vs Reality.
Because in REALITY (our view) sex / sexual attraction is a currency.
We recognize that "asset" (I'm not gonna use the word privilege) is a reality.
Attractive people get special treatment or better treatment, generally speaking, or at least are seen more favorable in a subconscious manner.
But in THEIR reality, they a. ignore the fact that beauty / attractiveness affects behavior (because they don't believe it should) b. know they are generally unattractive (they as an individual) and project their insecurity as offense and claim racism because they aren't getting the A+ treatment from others but instead treated like a -B or a C+ in some people's eyes.
The reality is- beauty matters BUT is also subjective, which is why it's nonsense to apply any kind of prejudice to it. The definition of discriminating:
1 : making a distinction : distinguishing a discriminating mark
2 : marked by discrimination:
a : discerning, judicious discriminating buyers
b : discriminatory accused of discriminating practices -- so let's apply this to a store. You see all manner of fruits in a stand. Your discrimination tells you 'I'm only into apples and pears' well that's your preference.
Now from there, now that you've narrowed the playing field from a salad bar to 4-5 bushes of produce to scan through and see what quality you desire from those. If you're not into strawberries you're not into strawberries. But you will discriminate against ALL OTHER pears when looking at a pile.
No one just grabs the first fruit in a pile. You check it, you look for blemishes, you smell them, you may even thump one with your hand. (This would be dating and getting to know someone's personality). But knowing your dating pool you prefer (apples) isn't a bad thing and helps to really save time and effort, especially when you KNOW what you ARE NOT attracted to.
The way we find what we like in EVERYTHING is literally by discriminating between the features or aspects of one thing and another. You wouldn't know your favorite food if you didn't discriminate against other foods.
