Troubled Waters Of Today

This is just a test run. I haven't had a blog since Rupert Murdoch shot "My Space" in the foot, opening the door for the Farcebook juggernaut. That blogless spy platform and whirlpool of frippery has taken to banning profiles that post items 'contrary to its community standards'. 

I am currently halfway through my third term in 'Facebook prison' inside 12 months. Typically autocratic, i had a thirty day ban imposed for posting a documentary entitled "Australian Atomic Confessions". My reasons for doing so were cultural and educational. I have two university degrees; one major in culture with particularly high marks in a unit entitled "The Politics of the Indigenous Australian Economy".

The item was produced by Australian university students and contained little known facts and footage of British atomic experiments conducted in the Australian outback at Maralinga (and other venues) in the forties and fifties. Unfortunately, for 'community standards' the video contained about 30 seconds of naked Aboriginals, including a boy child. Most likely the family was affected (like many witnesses in the documentary) by the deadly explosions.

Anyway, minutes after posting the documentary i found myself banned by facebook. No questions asked. Just what you want from a business partness of ten years. What if (as was actually the case) facebook had become my LAST social resource? What if it was the only way i could contact my family? Too bad! I'd offended someone's standards. Someone who probably didn't even WATCH the documentary.

Oh well; a friend put me onto #Minds and it has taken a week or two to get used to the layout/interface and, today, I finally realised i could write a blog here. So here it is: my first installment. I have attached a link to a "note" I wrote in "Farcebook" some two and a half years ago when I had, already, become jaded with the virtual autocracy. Please enjoy and 're-mind' :)
