A lot of shade has been thrown at Call of Duty, and it's publisher Activision for their recent announcement of dropping the single player campaign in favor of a battle royale mode, as if the problem is that the publisher is ignoring what the average gamer wants
I think the real fucking problem here is that it is a sacrilegious thing to some of these reviewers for their “favorite” mode being cut from the product. As if every fps shooter “must” have a traditional single player in order to be just that. But how much game time was spent in increasingly tacked-on maps and sets that are ran through once and never seen again and feature big name, money-eating actors?
Then good 'ol EA drops another WWII shooter for it's 5th (6th?) iteration. I can already tell, it's going to suck. Did you enjoy Battlefront 2? I hope so, because you are going to get fucked this time again. You watch how micro-transacty a fucking game can get. Battlefield 5 will become synonymous with EA’s master plan of nickel and diming the gaming community to death.
I applaud Treyarch and Activision for having the balls to give the players, not the reviewers, what they want. Fuck the single player campaigns. If I want that experience, there are entire games dedicated to story, characters, and engrossing gameplay. I buy the COD for the multiplayer. And you know what? I’m looking forward to Black Ops 4 and it's focus on the only reason I play COD anymore. Might even pre-order it just to piss motherfuckers off.
No one gives a fuck about single player in their multiplayer games anymore. At least those who play don't. Focus on what you're good at, not what fuck heads say you should make.
