Chrono Ma:Gia- The Next HearthStone, if people will allow it to survive long enough.

So last time I appeared on this site I talked about a new mobile card game called Chrono Ma:Gia. Back then I just started playing the game and found it to be an enjoyable experience. Now I would like to talk about how this game could easily sky rocket to the top of the virtual card game landscape, but only if more people actually KNOW that the game even exists.

See, the problem is that barely anyone is talking about this game. At least in the west. Barely anyone knew this game was released, and those who did where instantly bombarded with "news" that the game was going to take your Social Security Number and do nefarious things with it. The game still has a disproportionate number of negative reviews due to people misunderstanding what the Privacy Policy ACTUALLY says (It only mentions "Social Security Number" ONCE as an example of "Personal Information," the game never asks for or needs your SSN).

So, does the game deserve more? YES! Yes it does. Chrono Ma:Gia is a fun game that actually involves strategy and not just favoring the players who throw money at the game. I should know, I've been winning my matches at least as much as I've been losing and I haven't put a single dollar into it. My entire collection has been made 100% free. Now I wouldn't say I'm the best player in the game, but I'm at least in the Top 25% if my tournament placements is anything to go by.

Does the game have flaws? Yes it does. Some abilities are way too useful for their costs like Zeta's Provoke. Some matches are completely one sided due to bad draws or the other person getting everything they need. But it is still early in the game, and there has been a few balance updates that are trying to even things out. Like making Chaos Fire Blast cost 7 instead of 6 because it was too easy to just throw two of those once you get your opponent down to a certain amount.

However, the biggest complaint I have so far (other than getting new cards becomes INCREDIBLY slow after the first week) is the lack of cards and content. Currently there is only 230 cards in the game and only 4 game modes. A Story Mode (which is beaten in 2 hours), Free Matches (where you are pitted against anyone and everyone and only get 5 gold per victory), Rank Matches (which you compete in tournaments for ingame goodies), and Friend Matches (which don't count towards anything so ignore them). But the thing is both of these issues will be addressed, if we continue to support the game.

The cards in the "Standard Pack" are designed to be simple to use and construct decks around. It's in the description. But future packs are where the fun cards could start coming in. Stuff with unique abilities, or conditional effects. We can start seeing new characters to play as. Already in Story mode there are five characters you can't unlock to play as in regular matches. I want to see how Knight plays, and I'm not building a beast deck until I get Luluna. And this is a Japanese game after all, it's only going to be a matter of time before we get the "Swimsuit" outfits for everyone

One review of the game says it the best "it's not so much as a 'Good Game' but rather the skeleton of a 'Great Game'" and that probably the most accurate description I can think of. It is a good game, but it is missing those one or two major updates to turn it into a great game. Maybe more single player options that net you more Gold, Suit Pieces, or Packs. Definitely more cards and characters to play as. More rewards to get players to come back and play some more.

This game has room to grow, but only if the playerbase grows as well. And that's why I'm here, I want to spread awareness of Chrono Ma:Gia as far as possible. We need more people playing this game. More People talking about this game. More People interested in this game. Otherwise, Chrono Ma:Gia might not get to the point it needs to be in order to become sustainable.

So people, download Chrono Ma:Gia. Play it. If you don't like it move on. But if you do like it spread the word, and lets get this game the attention it deserves. Also, GungHo Online Entertainment: ROLL OUT THAT MAJOR UPDATE SOON! I'm a patient guy, but it's been a month already, where is a playable Luluna!
