Just because something good happens while on your watch doesn't necessarily mean you are due the credit for the goodness. You were just there at the right time and maybe the right place short of evidence to the otherwise.

Equally true... just because something bad happens while on your watch doesn't necessarily, without evidence to the otherwise, that it was your fault either.

In the latter case, where it may not be your fault - it is often perceived (and many cases true) to be your problem and responsibility to address.

With this said- The recent announcement that the war between North Korea and South Korea, does President Trump deserve any thumbs up in this history making moment or was it just his watch and good timing? We could easily suggest that it was good timing, but there is probably also enough evidence to suggest otherwise. Support either way is subjective and really depends upon your political point of view sadly.

Case in point - President Obama gets credit for eliminating Osama Bin Laden. Granted, he didn't hit the ground alongside the troops. He didn't pull the trigger. He didn't visually confirm the kill himself in person. He wasn't there. He gets credit still for the kill because it occurred under his watch. Depending upon where you politically stand - your position will vary.

Case in point - Hillary Clinton gets tagged due to Benghazi because it was her watch. The other side of the political says that is going overboard. Which is right?

Case in point - A shooter goes into a school. The gun is demonized. A van mows people down. The van is demonized? Politics plays here too.

So did President Trump play a decisive role in history with regards to N/S Korea? You be the judge, but from my position - he is as much responsible for North Korea and South Korea moment in history as President Obama was for authorizing troops to hit the ground and eliminate Osama Bin Laden at the very minimum. How much more depends upon where you stand politically.

P.S. Probably worth noting that the gun didn't get any credit for taking out Osama Bin Laden neither did the manufacturer of the firearms. Odd right? See there we go again - ones political positioning influences the perception of reality.
