The United States produces a wonderful silver coin called the American Eagle. Canada has a silver Maple Leaf. Mexico, Australia and many other nations do the same thing and they are all doing it wrong. #Mexico is doing it the worst as their coin has zero monetary value. #United States is doing it the next worse as our coins have a $1.00 face value. The US coin above is a Washington Half Dollar which is nearly a 1/2 ounce of silver and worth only .50 cents in monetary value. Why does monetary value matter?
The best of the lot here is the #Canadian Maple Leaf which has a face value of $5 in Canadian money. The reason monetary value matters is applied to history. It is called "deflation." Most #preppers and #prepared people fear hyper inflation and #hyperinflation is far more likely than #deflation but it can exist. When it does exist it is devastating. If the Government's of the world really had their people in #mind they'd issue different #silver (and #gold) coins. They could even use this as an opportunity to create some funds to pay off debts.
My recommendation is simple. The US should produce a one ounce silver coin with a face value of $50.00. The coin would thus be made available to the public for $50.00. You may remember when GW Bush handed out billions of money to tax payers as an economic stimulus? Well #Trump I advise you to do the same and give each household $100 in the form of two of these coins. The masses will sadly spend them, but some will hold. The silver is a #hedge on inflation and the face value a hedge on deflation. The people are thus served, protected and prepared.
