Gluten Free Hostess Pies!!!

I've been Gluten Free for several years now. Believe me, it was not voluntary. I'm happy to be the fat overweight American who eats too much junk food. I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease several years ago and for those who don't know what that means, it means I am allergic to the Gluten Protein found in Wheat, Barley & Rye grains.

When I was first diagnosed it didn't sound all that bad. Then I had to learn just how much Wheat is put into every damn thing we eat. It's been a long time since I've been able to enjoy a bite of a Hostess Cherry Pie. Those were my favorite pies, but I was fond of blueberry, apple and chocolate too.

Well those wonderful bastards over at katzglutenfree.com have finally made a comparable substitute to those pies that I was so fond of and they will be getting a significant portion of my income over the next few months while I eat myself into a pie induced coma.

The taste is so similar it sparks all those wonderful memories I have of being fat and happy eating pies. If you've been missing a good junk food pie infusion as I have been, well get ready to order a case of pies!

Don't get me wrong, these are far from perfect. They cost a little over a dollar a pie, which wouldn't be bad if they weren't also only two fat guy bites of food. So you may feel a little underwhelmed by the portion site of thes boxes especially seeing as those boxes can hold at-least twice that amount of pies they put in them. It's a kin to the more than half of bag of air in Lays chips. The insides of the pies are a little stark too. Often feeling like there isn't much filling. But they are still fantastically delicious!
