Ramblings about straight A girls

A word of warning. This blog is a bit of a ramble and might not really lead anywhere. I wanted to get this stuff out of my head and see how it looks black on white.

I don’t know know if English has an expression to describe a girl who always does what she feels is expected of her and goes beyond to please the authority. They tend to work really hard at school and do their home work very punctually. And they get top marks on every subject. In Finnish their known as “girls of ten”, for the highest grade (10) you can get. For the purposes of this blog I’ll use the term “straight A girls”. I’m not sure if this personality type is so common out of the Nordics, and I’m guessing they are more common here. That would explain a few things about the Nordic societies.

This kind of a personality is highly related to a few factors in psychological personality analysis. In psychology he “big five” personality traits are:

openness to experience

conscientiousness

extroversion

agreeableness

neuroticism

The three personality traits that form the straight A girl psychological profile are high on conscientiousness, high on agreeableness and high on neuroticism.

These girls, and the over-whelming percentage of people like that are girls, are very conscientious. They always do their home work. They won’t think of skipping them. It is a task assigned to them and they won’t allow them selves to stray from it. It is what is expected from them. Interestingly conscientiousness is strongly related to the moral factor of respecting the authority – something that is usually a clear indicator of a conservative personality.

They are also very agreeable – to an extent. Let’s get back to that later. They wish to please somebody: the teacher or the parents perhaps, but even more commonly: what they perceive to be the authority. And that can be impersonal. Keep this in mind too, we’ll get back to this. Agreeableness also means easily influenced, because they tend to adopt other people’s opinions if offered assertively. The opposite of agreeableness is disagreeableness – a trait very common with violent criminals and a definition of psychopaths. Agreeableness is a strongly feminine quality men generally being far less agreeable.

Neuroticism is common too. The constant anxiety about performing well and trying to please somebody is overwhelming. The stress can cause the straight A girls’ world to crumble for the slightest failure. Neuroticism – emotional instability - is often related to bad self esteem. The over-performing girl is trying to compensate her bad self esteem by getting appraisal from her achievements. Neuroticism is another trait with sex differences women being higher on neuroticism.

To summarize: the straight A girls do well in school, but not because of academic interests, but because they feel it is what is expected of them, they wish to please somebody. They are constantly stressed about this and trying to avoid failure and looking for ways to gain social acceptance. They are conformists in the strongest sense. In the stereotypical old days these girls would have turned out to be the busy-bodied church ladies competing for the righteous brownie points in the eyes of the pastor. They are natural puritans just waiting for the cause.

However nowadays the expectation hardly is for them to become those church ladies. And this is where it gets interesting - to me at least. Who are the straight A girls trying to please nowadays? I’d argue it’s the perceived consensus created by the media. The media creates them the consensus they can conform to, the impersonal entity to try to please and who to take the queues from. And the likes of Facebook and Twitter have taken this behavior to the extreme. The ultimate authority to please is their social media bubble. The ever narrowing Overton window allows them to pay dues by virtue signaling to the bubble according to the new moralistic trends set by the media.

People know about their need to conform and please the authority. The straight A girls go to university. They have the best grades, and the school structure gives them the authority who sets their goals. The university student body is ripe with conformist people who lack the will to question the authority and who are easy to manipulate because of their neurotic personalities. In the Nordics university education is free for the student, and the loudest proponents of putting half of the population through university pipeline are the progressives. The professorial body leans very heavily to the left and especially to the progressive side of it.

The whole academic world is designed to produce the busy-bodied church ladies of the progressive faith. And this is why the top levels of our societies are so progressive, so out of touch with the rest of the nation. People not willing to undergo such humiliation and indoctrination are opting out of academia. And that increases the process. The people in the academia know fewer and fewer people who would not conform to the dogma and are therefore more puritanic than the church ladies ever where. Here is where the agreeableness becomes a factor again. Because their authorities and their social contacts are limited to one kind of thinking, they become – somewhat ironically – extremely disagreeable with opposing view points even to the point where they view the opposition in a completely unemphatic way – like psychopaths.

I'd argue that a part of why STEM fields in university have been much less affected by the progressive sjw movement is because it does not offer these a personalized ideology to take orders from. "Critical theory" tells them exactly what to do but numbers, chemistry and mechanics don't.  

The straight A girls are very easy to push to do things out of character. Take promiscuity for example. Because of their somewhat timid natural personalities the straight A girls are naturally inclined to monogamy. The authority – with the mouths of feminist and other progressive authorities – tells them a lie so obvious it could not work with any other type of personalities. They tell them, that the society expects them to be virtuous and chaste, and that they should rebel against it. Think about his for a moment. The feminists are the authority in the current times, they are given a platform by the TV, journals and social media unopposed. They are the ones telling these girls what to do. The actual opposite of what they say, going against the will of the feminists, is rebellious. But then again, the straight A girls are not rebellious, they seek to conform to an authority.

And they are being manipulated to fight against patriarchy, hetero-normativity, racism, sexism, ableism etc. All this in countries, where women are systematically favored, sexual deviance is glorified, xenophilia is taken to the extreme. All this is achieved by repetition from authority position. 

Our world is deeply sick. Based on the personality profile I believe these women should be the core of the conservative movement in the country – which doesn’t exist. They embody all the negative trademarks traditionally associated with conservatives: belief in authority, closed-mindedness, us against them divisionist world view, desire to control other people’s behavior and thought. I think the progressives have done a miracle here. Instead of fighting who they viewed their natural enemies, they used their biological traits to subvert them into their mindless lackeys.
