The thing about when a neuron fires is that it creates a more stable connection in a cluster. This allows quicker communication along with more frequent activation caused by relevant subjects. When you give yourself a daily reminder, essentially you're putting something in the back of your mind for a while longer.
I like to write certain things out and continue to read them in the mornings or throughout the day. This keeps me goal oriented, you can't forget about them if you keep reading them. If you can't forget about them, then if you really want them you'll act.
Simple things can be done to remind yourself. A message on the mirror, fridge, background of your phone. The most important thing is that you need to be conscious enough in order to remind yourself. Before I built the habit of self-reminders, I would use my phone to tell me to read my material every morning, and I would right then. This is a convenient tool, as it lets your mind stay calm and serene until needed to be reminded.
What can reminding yourself do for you?
You'll reach goals much quicker. Staying on track, remaining consistent, and maintaining momentum is crucial. Setting daily reminders can pump you up for your goals and get you on the right path for the day.
This will allow you to gain more confidence as you build more and more momentum. Confidence will take you as far as you desire in this world.
Reminding yourself of your good qualities allows you to feel accomplished in a way; even the qualities you'd like to focus on for the day should be recited, an example for me would be listening, letting others speak. Pick one or two, so you don't overwhelm your mind and miss goals.
There are tons of benefits to writing reminders, it allows you to clear your mind of the deadlines, it gives you that much more memory and processing in your brain.
