What is this plant an what are the feelings that the people using it are having?

My personal experience is that it has helped me through the post acute withdrawal symptoms of  heroin addiction. Chronic addiction at that. Im well aware of the negative effects that it could posses but this still seemed to outweigh the horrors of active addiction.
